My goal in painting is to capture and share the beauty that exists in our natural environment.  My work is currently focused on representational landscapes, designed to convey the essential life forces present in natural forms, rather than to provide a literal reproduction.  In a time when we are bombarded with electronic images that continuously remind us of the world’s ills – global warming, war and genocide, rising economic distress and inequality – I believe that these meditative and peaceful views can help restore an essential sense of balance.  I am also hopeful that the more we contemplate the wonders of this earth, the more likely we are to engage in activities that protect and preserve this beauty for future generations.

Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life...The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us,
the less taste we shall  have for destruction.
